I first tried this tea in Jiro's stunning tea tasting room in Shizuoka and was blown away by its power and richness. This is a serious tea for serious tea drinkers, no funny business here. This is the good stuff. A contemplative tea to be drunk on a cold winters day whilst thinking about really deep stuff like \"I wonder how many times i have accidently eaten a bug without knowing?\". Anyway, i digress, lets get back to this Kabusecha. \u003cbr\u003eMade from the relatively new Saekari cultivar, this is a BIG umami rich shaded tea. Grown for 14 days under shade prior to harvest, it has a classic mountain tea aroma of fresh cut grass and a vegetal, almost artichoke fragrance. \u003cbr\u003eOn the palate it is all umami, which is typical for this cultivar, theres edamame, buttered corn and this lovely steamed chestnut creaminess.
